Logging and Monitoring
|Pentaho Operations Mart
For versions 7.x, 8.x / published March 2019
We have collected a library of best practices, presentations, and videos around the Pentaho Business Analytics (BA) Operations Mart and the Data Integration (DI) Operations Mart. The Operations Mart (Ops Mart) is used to monitor system performance for information such as how long and how often a report runs, and aggregates data from the Pentaho server log files into a set of prebuilt audit reports.
Audience: Network or systems administrators, or anyone with an interest in performance tuning, logging, and monitoring.
|Logging and Monitoring for Pentaho Servers
For versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.0 / published January 2018
We have collected a series of best practice recommendations for logging and monitoring your Pentaho server environment. Some of the things discussed here include enabling HTTP, thread, and Mondrian logging, along with log rotation recommendations.
Audience: Pentaho server administrators who want to monitor system performance.
|Logging with Hadoop and PDI
For versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x / published March 2018
Shows you how to do logging with Hadoop and PDI, and how to customize and configure those connections.
Audience: Pentaho and Hadoop system administrators who want to monitor system performance.
|Monitoring Pentaho Analyzer Performance
For versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.0 / published February 2018
This document covers some guidelines on monitoring Pentaho Analyzer performance. You will learn about monitoring Analyzer Performance and identifying the root cause of performance issues.
Audience: Pentaho administrators, or anyone with a background in database use or administration who is interested in dynamically exploring data and monitoring to increase performance speed.
|Logging and Monitoring in PDI
For versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x / published February 2018
The main objective of this document is to provide information about different options for best practices associated with PDI logging. Some of the things discussed here include why you should use PDI logging, levels of logging, transformation and job logging, and debugging transformations and jobs.
Audience: Developers and any others who wish to use PDI logging for correcting process execution errors, detecting bottlenecks and substandard performance steps, and keeping track of progress.
