Pentaho Support Utility:

 

The Pentaho Support Utility is a collection utility designed to quickly gather and provide as much information about a system as possible to Support and Services.  There are two versions currently available 4.8.x and 5.0.x.  The 5.0.x version also is compatible with both BA and PDI 5.1.0.  

Why was this utility created?

One of the biggest pain points for clients and internal Support and Services teams is trying to collect all of the information needed to review and troubleshoot an issue as quickly and effectively as possible.  Much of the responsibility was pushed onto the client to find and gather the materials required for Support and Services. This tool was designed to collect information quickly and effectively into a single location, easing the burden on both the client and internal Pentaho support teams.

What information is collected?

  •         Database connection information
  •         Server Process List
  •         Pro_ACL / Pro_Files
  •         Directory structure of the installation (BA-Server/PEC/Tomcat/DI Server/ Spoon etc)
  •         Environment Information (OS, Memory, CPU, Network, PATH, Java_home, User)
  •         Display of License installed
  •         Catalina log
  •         MD5 of BA-Server/DI-Server and Tomcat
  •         Various Pentaho related configuration and .properties files 
  •         Script files (.bat, .sh)
  •         XML files from Tomcat and pentaho-solutions

Deployment Options and Download Location: 

Each version is made up of several deployment options depending on the situation or end user preference. 

BA-Server:

Plugin – This deployment option will be similar to any other BA Server plugin and can be run inside of the Pentaho User Console.  Please click the following link for more information: https://support.pentaho.com/hc/en-us/articles/205834013

Data Integration:
