Overview

Pentaho Business Analytics Serverwrites sensitive data to a log file which may be accidentally exposed to potential attackers. (CWE-532)

Products Affected

Pentaho Business Analytics Server versions before 9.4.0.0 and 9.3.0.1

Description

Pentaho Business Analytics Server versions before 9.4.0.0 and 9.3.0.1 with the Big Data Plugin expose the username and password of clusters in clear text into system logs.

Impact

While logging all information may be helpful during development stages, it is important that logging levels be set appropriately so that sensitive user data and system information are not accidentally exposed to potential attackers.
